The business licenses in Dubai are issued by The Department of Economic Development (DED). A commercial license can be applied for several business operations like spare parts trading, safety equipment trading, gold and precious metal trading, trading in chemicals, trading in automobile, furniture trading, publications and media material trading.

Industrial license:
Industrial or manufacturing activity in the UAE requires Industrial licenses. One can assemble and process goods using local or imported raw materials with this license. They are applicable for many businesses including metal, textiles, food, petroleum products, paper, equipment and engines. 

Professional license
Professional licenses can be acquired by any company or individual who is planning to use people's intellectual abilities. Carpentry, consultancy services, artisanship, printing and publishing, beauty salons, computer graphic design services, medical services, security services, and document clearing etc are some of the activities that come under this license. 

Tourism License
A travel and tourism license is essential to start a travel and tourism company. This license is issued from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM). Depending upon the mode of operation, the tourism license can be classified into three major categories - Outbound tour operations, inbound tour operations and travel agencies.

Agriculture license
As the name suggests, the agriculture license is possessed by the individuals or firms that are involved in works like cultivation and harvesting of crops, installation of greenhouses, trading of pesticides, crops etc.

Craftsmanship license
The individuals who are involved in activities like carpentry, electrical work, plumbing etc requires a craftsmanship license. Any organisation that employs a craftsman to work for them should apply for this license.
